This was the first of two back to back weddings at The Belle Epoque in Knutsford. As one of the preferred wedding photographers at the Belle Epoque it has given me the opportunity to shoot all the different seasons throughout the year and the varying light conditions.
I first met Claire and Matthew in Macclesfield when they were starting to plan their wedding earlier this year and it quickly became pretty obvious that the knew they didnt want to have the multi filtered and instagram type images that seem to have been adopted by so many wedding photographers recently. My main objection to these filters are that they are a trend and in years to come a wedding album can just look like a fashion shoot. So, I concentrate on good black and white and strong colourful images – most of my clients seem to prefer that anyway.
Claire has to be one of the quickest ” out of the car and into the venue ” brides that I have ever photographed – she also didnt want any preparation images which is unusual these days. So, I met Matthew and his son at the Belle Epoque and concentrated on shots of them and his best man ( who delivered one of the most memorable lines I have heard recently !! )
With the light fading fast we had a quick ( 15 mins ) of lightly posed images of Claire and Matthew around the Belle Epoque and on the terrace at the rear and then into the meal. I quickly set up a couple of lights so that I could get some natural looking shots rather than on-camera flash which really destroys the intimacy of the venue.
Anyway, here are some of my favourite images to thanks to Claire and Matthew for making my job so easy on the day.
