Corporate Headshot and Brand Photographer in Manchester and Cheshire

A good corporate headshot photographer should reflect your personality - unfortunately most people dread having their photograph taken - usually because they have never been photographed professionally. As a corporate headshot and brand photographer in Manchester and Cheshire we usually recommend allowing 10-15 mins per person which allows for a little time to chat and make you feel relaxed - usually the last few images are the ones that people select when they feel comfortable. However, the more time we spend with each person, the better the selection of shots we can provide for you.

We always take a selection of shots of each person to find their best angle and expression. The best headshots are then uploaded onto an online gallery for you to choose your final shortlist before being edited. Shoots are scheduled depending on the number of people you need photographing. We can generally photograph a maximum of around 40 people per day - this is charged at our full day rate.

We can also shoot less formal business portraits to reflect a more relaxed approach that some businesses prefer using the environment of the office surroundings. This is perfect for clients who want a more creative image.

Recently the trend for “brand or marketing photography” has become very popular -the goal of branding photography is to help a brand establish a strong visual identity that resonates with its target audience and differentiates it from its competitors. By creating a consistent look and feel across all marketing materials, branding photography can help build brand recognition, increase customer engagement, and ultimately drive sales. With my background in marketing and sales for multi national companies I can produce images that will ensure you have the right images for your social media coverage and target market.

So what should you look for from a corporate headshot and branding photographer in Manchester and Cheshire ?

A good corporate headshot photographer possesses a combination of technical skills, artistic vision, interpersonal abilities, and professionalism. Here are some key qualities that make a good headshot photographer:

Understanding of Lighting: Lighting is crucial in headshot photography. A skilled headshot photographer knows how to manipulate both natural and artificial light to flatter their subjects, minimize shadows, and highlight facial features. They understand the importance of using diffusers, reflectors, and other tools to achieve the desired look.

Ability to Direct and Pose Subjects: A good headshot photographer knows how to direct their subjects to achieve natural and flattering poses. They provide clear instructions and guidance while also allowing for the subject's personality to shine through. They understand the importance of body language and facial expressions in conveying the desired message or mood.

Attention to Detail: A good headshot photographer pays attention to the smallest details, including wardrobe choices, hair styling, makeup, and facial expressions. They ensure that every aspect of the headshot contributes to the overall image and reflects the subject's personality and brand.

Empathy and Communication Skills: Building rapport with clients is essential in headshot photography. A good photographer listens to their clients' needs and preferences, understands their goals and concerns, and communicates effectively throughout the process. They create a comfortable and relaxed environment that allows their subjects to feel at ease and confident in front of the camera.

Creativity and Artistic Vision: While headshot photography often follows certain conventions, a good photographer brings their own creative vision and style to the images. They know how to experiment with different angles, compositions, and backgrounds to create visually striking and memorable headshots that stand out from the crowd.

Professionalism and Reliability: A good headshot photographer is professional, reliable, and punctual. They arrive prepared for each shoot, maintain a positive attitude, and deliver results that meet or exceed their clients' expectations. They handle client inquiries, scheduling, and administrative tasks efficiently and courteously.

What to wear

I am ofter asked this question. What you wear can be as important as your expression. Clothing should simply enhance you and your features and keep the focus of attention on your face.  When deciding what to wear for your headshot, think about what the shot is being used for. A professional headshot requires professional clothing, so choose what you might normally wear to a business meeting or interview. Remember that you are trying to send a particular visual message as well as look confident and approachable. In general, a jacket creates a senior and professional look.
